Purpose of the service
SendSecure provides a privacy-focused platform for sharing encrypted messages and files that delete after viewing or expiry. The service is designed for lawful, ethical, and responsible use.
User responsibility
- You are solely responsible for content you encrypt, upload, or share.
- You must not transmit illegal, harmful, abusive, malicious, or rights-infringing content.
- You are responsible for safeguarding the password and communicating it securely to the intended recipient.
- Lost passwords cannot be recovered. The encrypted data will remain permanently inaccessible.
Security and encryption
Encryption and decryption happen in your browser using WebCrypto. Messages and files use AES-GCM with 256-bit keys, while Argon2id derives keys from your password. SendSecure never receives or stores the password or plaintext.
Strong cryptography reduces risk, but no system can guarantee absolute security. You use SendSecure at your own risk.
Temporary data storage
- Encrypted messages and files are stored temporarily.
- Encrypted content is permanently deleted after successful decryption or expiry of the selected 1–7 day validity period.
- SendSecure does not retain plaintext content, passwords, or user identity data.
Availability and service changes
SendSecure is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free operation. The service may be updated, modified, limited, or discontinued without prior notice.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SendSecure and its developers are not liable for direct or indirect damages, losses, or liabilities arising from use of—or inability to use—the service. This includes data loss, failed decryption, unauthorized access, and service interruption.
No warranties
SendSecure is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. Changes will be posted here with a revised effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
